Project Manager – Mechanical Construction (Columbus, OH)

nnJob Overview:
nA well-established, full-service mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the full life cycle of plumbing and mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget while ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction. This position plays a vital role in managing financials, coordinating resources, and maintaining clear communication across departments and project stakeholders.
nnKey Responsibilities:

- Lead the full management of mechanical construction projects, ensuring profitability, schedule adherence, and contract compliance. n
- Monitor job costs, manpower allocation, project timelines, and change orders through monthly reviews and reporting. n
- Maintain up-to-date project status and financial reporting for internal leadership. n
- Collaborate with field superintendents, construction managers, and general contractors to resolve issues and ensure smooth execution. n
- Coordinate manpower, equipment needs, and logistics for all active projects. n
- Oversee buyout processes, project change orders, submittals, and close-out documentation. n
- Conduct regular site visits and participate in job meetings to stay connected to field conditions. n
- Manage contract setup, scope review, cost estimates, and scheduling values. n
- Negotiate subcontracts and material purchases; generate purchase orders. n
- Submit and track project documentation including submittals, change orders, and billings. n
- Attend internal project management meetings and generate accurate project reports. n
Qualifications & Experience:
nRequired:
n- n
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plumbing and mechanical systems. n
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. n
- Solid understanding of plumbing and piping installation methods. n
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. n
- Working knowledge of job costing, billing, and project financials. n
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, project management software). n
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. n
- Valid driver's license and OSHA 10 certification. n

- Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent hands-on experience. n
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Business. n
- Familiarity with commercial, institutional, and/or industrial mechanical construction. n
Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to walk job sites and safely navigate active construction environments. n
- Ability to climb ladders and inspect work on elevated platforms. n
