Our Sourcing Engineers play a crucial role in the supply chain management process, focusing on identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers and materials needed for manufacturing or production. They ensure that the components or raw materials meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery requirements while fostering strong relationships with suppliers.nn#LI-SL1nnA Day In The LifennSupplier Identification and Evaluation:nnResearch and identify potential suppliers globally and locally based on technical requirements and company needs.nEvaluate suppliers' capabilities, capacities, and financial stability to ensure they can meet the company's quality and delivery standards.nConduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with industry standards and company policies.nnSupplier Relationship Management:nnBuild and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.nNegotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible terms for the company.nManage supplier performance through regular reviews and assessments, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.nnCost Management:nnWork closely with the procurement team to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.nAnalyze cost structures and market trends to achieve competitive pricing from suppliers.nImplement value engineering and cost reduction initiatives without compromising product quality or performance.nnTechnical Collaboration:nnCollaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical specifications and ensure that suppliers can meet these requirements.nProvide technical support and guidance to suppliers to improve their processes and product offerings.nParticipate in design reviews and provide input on material selection and sourcing strategies.nnRisk Management:nnIdentify potential risks in the supply chain, such as single-source dependencies, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.nEnsure a diversified and resilient supplier base to avoid supply disruptions.nnCompliance and Quality Assurance:nnEnsure that all sourced materials and components comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.nWork with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues related to supplier quality or non-conformance.nMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier certifications, audits, and performance metrics.nnContinuous Improvement:nnDrive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.nStay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in sourcing and procurement.nLead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement new sourcing strategies and projects.nnWhat will help you thrive in this role?nnBS degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or technical fieldn3+ years of experience in a materials role involving sourcing activities for a manufacturing operationnStrong ERP systems experiencenAbility to read and interpret engineering prints and drawingsnSolid understanding of manufacturing processes and materialsnFamiliarity with Quality systems, processes, and requirementsnDemonstrated negotiation experiencenStrong analytical and interpersonal skillsnnPreferred:nnSAPnUnderstanding of or experience working with interpersonal logisticsnUnderstanding of commodity marketsnPMP or other project management certificationnMBA or Master's degree is a plusnnHubbell IncorporatednnHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
