Responsibilities
Reviews documentation and collaborates with students to determine applicable and reasonable accommodations. Including but not limited to, academic, housing, dietary and transportation. Assists in determining available resources and services for students. Keeps current and detailed case notes within OAS AIM system.
Serves as a liaison between faculty/staff and students by facilitating the interactive process and resolving concerns to ensure compliance. Assists in awareness of and resolutions to concerns with physical access (e.g., Maxient Reports, etc.).
Maintain knowledge of applicable laws (e.g., ADA/ADAAA, Section 504/508, FERPA, etc.) and uphold confidentiality and discretion. Assists with the development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures concerning access and reasonable accommodations.
Assists with the development and implementation of internal and external, independent, and collaborative programming (e.g., workshops, trainings, events, orientations, etc.). Including but not limited to: DAW, Departmental Faculty Trainings, Graduation/Celebration, and Scholarship Programming.
Assist in planning and executing accommodated testing during Finals Week. This includes alternative schedules and extended hours.
Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, coverage of other OAS or DSST roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field and two years of experience; or a Master's degree in related field, or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
