nPOSITION DESCRIPTION
nTITLE: Process Control Engineer - Corporate DEPARTMENT: Engineering
nREPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations SALARY GRADE: Exempt
nMain Function:
n- n
- Managing and directing instrumentation and process controls activities company wide. n
- Function as discipline lead for applicable capital projects. n
- Function as project manager/engineer for I&C capital projects. n
- Provide technical support to plants for instrumentation, controls, and DCS issues. n
- Direct the development of standard control strategies, as well as standards for I&C hardware, software, and systems. n
Duties and Responsibilities
n- n
- Assist in troubleshooting of process controls, DCS, and field instrument issues. n
- Ensure that instrumentation and DCS installation drawings, data sheets and specifications, are in full compliance with recognized industry and safety standards, as well as applicable CCC Engineering Standards. n
- Assist in the technical development of plant project P&ID’s and PFD’s. n
- Development of Engineering Standards for instrumentation, control strategies, DCS installation, HMI n
Interfaces, and External Systems communications (e.g., PLC’s).

- Manage and maintain Central Data Historian System, including interfaces at each plant. n
- Development of DCS project schedules and manpower requirements. n
- Provide requirements specifications for procurement of DCS components and hardware. n
- Provide oversight for management of plant DCS Systems. n
- Development of effective control strategies, logic, and HMI Graphics. n
- Ensure compliance with all Management of Change protocols for changes to DCS programing. n
- Assist Maintenance Superintendent in developing plant I&E Technicians skills and capabilities in the operation and maintenance of plant DCS. n
- Maintain a high degree of reliability in all controls and DCS components. n
- Develop and implement project(s) to upgrade, maintain, and improve reliability of plant DCS Systems. n
- Assist with annual turnaround planning as required and as it relates to instrumentation and controls. n
- Respond when and where needed during emergency downtime situations or when problems occur. n
- Build and enhance relationships with I&E contractors, vendors, suppliers to improve access to needed parts/support to improve plant reliability. n

Education and Experience
n- n
- Engineering degree required, preferably Chemical or Electrical. n
- 10 - 15 years of experience preferred. n
- Experience with NFPA/NEC codes, as well as HAZOP procedures is a plus. n
- DCS experience with Emerson DeltaV is a must. n
- Experience with PLC’s and System Interfaces is a must. n
- Experience with OSISoft PI Enterprise Server is strongly recommended. n
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Excel is a must. n
- Plant experience is strongly recommended. n
- Project Management skills are strongly recommended. n
- Extensive computer troubleshooting and repair skills. n
- Experience with and working knowledge of Ethernet Networking components and TCP/IP protocol. n
