nJob Summary:
nWe are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Cook to join our preschool/daycare team. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA guidelines, adhering to food safety standards, and accommodating children’s dietary needs and allergies. The ideal candidate will take pride in creating a safe and healthy mealtime experience for children in a nurturing environment.
nKey Responsibilities:
nPlan and prepare daily meals and snacks for children, following a pre-approved menu and nutrition guidelines
nMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and all food preparation areas in compliance with health department regulations
nEnsure food is prepared in accordance with children’s allergies and dietary restrictions
nOrder and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies
nMaintain proper food storage and labeling procedures
nMonitor food temperatures and log all required records for compliance
nAssist in meal service, including serving food and helping classrooms during mealtimes as needed
nFollow all licensing, health, and safety regulations related to food preparation and service
nSupport staff with occasional classroom or center tasks when kitchen duties are complete
nQualifications:
nHigh school diploma or equivalent required
nPrior experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare, school, or institutional setting
nKnowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines (preferred)
nValid food handler’s card or ability to obtain one before employment
nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
nMust pass background check and meet state licensing requirements
