Job Summary

n

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer with experience in substation design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our St Louis, Missouri office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).

Responsibilities

n

• n

  Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations

  n
n
• n

  One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling

  n

• n

  Occasional travel may be required

  n
n

n

Required Education/Experience

n

n
• n

  Ability to function as a Mid-Level Substation Design Engineer in our St Louis office

  n
n
• n

  BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university

  n
n
• n

  Experience in 15kV through 500kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards

  n
n
• n

  Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently

  n
n
• n

  Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

  n
n
• n

  Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

  n
n

n

Desired Education/Experience

n

n
• n

  5+ years experience in utility substation design as outlined above

  n
n
• n

  Engineer in Training registration (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) license

  n
n
• n

  Experience in managing small project teams.
