This firm is a go-to partner for high-end commercial interiors, corporate headquarters, and mission-critical facilities, offering a collaborative environment where engineers are empowered to lead and innovate.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer with a focus on interior fit-out projects, you'll play a key role in designing HVAC and plumbing systems for some of the region's most recognizable commercial spaces. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers to deliver high-performance, code-compliant, and client-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial interior fit-out projects, including office spaces, retail, and tenant renovations.
  • Coordinate with electrical and fire protection disciplines to ensure integrated MEP solutions.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and equipment schedules.
  • Conduct site surveys and field verifications to support design accuracy.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs during construction.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, ASHRAE standards, and LEED guidelines where applicable.
  • Support project management tasks including timelines, deliverables, and quality control.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-6 years of experience in MEP design, with a focus on commercial fit-out projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with energy modeling tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of NYC/NJ building codes and permitting processes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred.
  • EIT or PE license is a plus but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $100k - $140k, commensurate with experience.
