SALARY RANGE: $90,000 to $130,000 / year

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SUMMARY

Edge Autonomy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our team. The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans to ensure the quality of our products (aircraft, control systems, and mission equipment). The Test Engineer will coordinate with the customer, ensuring test planning and execution of test, validation, and verification activities. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify potential issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure that our solutions meet both technical and functional requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • Lead planning, execution, analysis, and reporting results of tests with focus on Engineering Flight Tests (EFT), engineering ground test, and other system-level qualifications (such as environmental tests, EMI/EMC tests, and analysis report).
  • Lead preparation and delivery of Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and System Design Reviews (SDR).
  • Provide test method validation necessary to prepare for and execute risk reduction flight tests. Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans to include system description, system configuration, test conditions, test verification tools, and analysis tools.
  • Lead the Test/Inspection Report effort, which shall include test setup, as-run configuration and parameters, pass/fail results as well as any cause for failure and any problems or issues identified during the test.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders and Government customers to ensure test planning and execution of test, validation, and verification activities.
  • Team with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Ensure product quality and performance through rigorous testing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, etc.) to understand product requirements and ensure testing coverage.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Set up and maintain test environments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • This role will require up to 50% travel to other company locations and client sites

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in testing or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with defect / task tracking systems (e.g. JIRA).
  • Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g. Cameo).
  • Experience planning and executing Test & Evaluation Master Plans/Test & Evaluation Program Plans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with U.S. Army testing activities, specifically with ATEC.
  • Experience with U.S. Army software safety testing, specifically with AMC 385-17 and MIL-STD-882E.
  • Experienced with Environmental Testing, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Testing, Transportation Testing, and System Level Flight Testing.
  • Familiar with required activities to ensure: All stakeholders are prepared to enter test. All human, equipment, and facility resources are available, functional, calibrated, and certified for use. Test schedules can be supported by all stakeholders. Plans are addressed for equipment failures.
  • Experience working with CAN and Ethernet Data
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Hiring Requirements

Salary Range

The anticipated salary range for this role is $90,000 to $130,000 / year. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
