Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Grants Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial management of multiple grants and contracts. This includes post-award administration, assisting with budget development, budget tracking, invoicing, compliance monitoring, reporting, and collaboration with finance and program staff to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Job Duties
Build and maintain strong working relationships with grantors and funding agencies.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant and contract invoices.
Communicate budget modifications, spending variances, and other financial updates to grantors.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain the agency’s annual cost allocation plan; perform and document monthly allocations.
Track and report on restricted gifts, ensuring appropriate use and documentation.
Ensure proper allocation of costs in accordance with grant and contract terms and regulatory requirements.
Assist with preparing the organization’s annual consolidated budget and rolling forecasts.
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including alternative funding scenarios.
Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Assist with audit preparation, including annual financial audits and funder site visits.
Maintain strict adherence to Lumina Alliance’s confidentiality policies.
Strictly adhere to Lumina Alliance’s Confidentiality Policy. Be responsible for protecting the confidentiality of all clients, materials, and information.
Participate in regular all-staff, Department, and other Lumina Alliance meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO.
Key Characteristics
Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit finance or grant management.
Familiar with government grants and budget management.
Understands the differing needs of management vs external reporting.
Able to present financial information in a concise and easy-to-understand manner.
Experience using a financial database.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Google Workspace.
Qualifications
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
Works closely, cooperatively, and collaboratively with others.
Clear and professional oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and confidentiality.
Experience with Medi-Cal or other reimbursement billing systems.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software platforms.
Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Requirements
Must satisfactorily pass a Live Scan background check, paid for by the employer.
Completion of Lumina Alliance’s 65-hr California State Certified Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Crisis Counselor Training (provided as on-the-job training).

Salary Range : $31.30 - $35.23 (Bilingual differential of $1/hr, if applicable)
