About the role
As a Production Engineer at SciAps, you will play a key role in supporting our Assembly and Final Assembly operations. You will work closely with application engineers and technicians to ensure smooth production processes, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong foundation in physics and engineering principles, particularly in optics, materials science, and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily production activities in Assembly, Pre-Assembly, and Final Assembly areas.
- Operate and troubleshoot systems involving (LIBS) laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technologies and near-infrared (NIR)
- Apply knowledge of physical optics, materials science, and mathematical modeling to solve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve field issues using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., FMEA, 8D, PDCA).
- Assist in the design and setup of new production lines or modifications to existing ones.
- Interpret hardware/software schematics and contribute to system-level debugging and optimization.
- Participate in Value Stream Mapping and other lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Document procedures, test results, and engineering changes clearly and accurately.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a high-tech or instrumentation environment.
- Familiarity with XRF/LIBS technologies is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (FMEA, 8D, PDCA).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
