Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager

Position Summary:
We are seeking a safety-focused Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) professional with 3–5 years of experience to lead and support our EHS initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. You will serve as a key resource for fostering a culture of safety, reducing risk, and promoting continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations and a passion for creating safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environments.
Job Duties:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit required environmental and safety reports.
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain incident reports and track corrective actions to closure.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct emergency drills and training. Act as the primary contact for emergency response situations.
- Oversee waste management, recycling, and pollution prevention programs. Monitor and manage hazardous materials and chemical safety. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Lead the safety committee and facilitate regular meetings. Engage employees in EHS initiatives and promote a culture of safety.
- Develop and manage occupational health programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and ergonomics. Coordinate with health professionals for employee health screenings and evaluations.
- Organize and conduct comprehensive training sessions for employees on the safe operation of cranes, aerial lifts, forklifts, and lockout/tagout procedures. This training covers operational procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response actions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all crane and lift training sessions, including the dates of training, the names of attendees, and any test scores or evaluations.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience within Environmental Health & Safety
- Knowledge of injury prevention principles & techniques, DOT and OSHA regulatory compliance.
- Process Safety Management experience.
- Experience in implementing HSE programs.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the forging industry.
- Experience with OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Programs).
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
