Position : Reliability Engineer in Mechanical and Maintenance for the Paper and Pulp Wood Products sector.
nIndustry : Paper and Pulp / Packaging.
nLocation : Franklin, Virginia (Relocation assistance available)

- Responsibilities include serving as a role model for workplace safety, promoting a Culture of Reliability through Manufacturing Work Systems, Training, and Deliberate Improvement. n
- Analyze chronic equipment failures and high-maintenance/cost equipment using root cause failure analysis. n
- Review maintenance-related downtime weekly to develop and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. n
- Understand the sources of downtime and ensure appropriate responses to eliminate repeat issues. n
- Provide technical support for daily production and maintenance challenges. n
- Advocate for preventive and predictive maintenance programs. n
- Maintain the Mechanical Integrity program and procedures for Process Safety Management. n
- Contribute to area maintenance budgets for significant maintenance items and optimizations. n
- Analyze financial service costs against targets and address equipment not meeting cost performance goals. n
- Develop long-term maintenance plans for rotating equipment, rebuilds, and major maintenance. n
- Estimate, plan, and manage maintenance projects within budget for routine work, quarterly outages, and major outages. n
- Oversee capital and expense project design, development, and execution. Manage contractor work for routine and major shutdown jobs according to mill standards using best engineering practices. n
- Ensure effective use and integrity of the CMMS system (SAP) to sustain maintenance practices and improve equipment. n
Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is required. n
- Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in the paper and pulp manufacturing sector. n
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in the continuous process industry is essential, with a preference for those with a background in kraft pulp manufacturing. n
- Familiarity with Maintenance Best Practices is necessary. n
- Must have a working knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and API codes, as well as OSHA regulations. n
- Comprehensive understanding of rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, and atmospheric storage tanks is required. n
- Proficiency in the use of precision measurement tools and assembly techniques is expected. n
- The ability to instruct others is essential. n
- Strong interpersonal skills are required to collaborate effectively within a diverse organization. n
- Must be capable of thriving in a high-performance team environment. n
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is crucial. n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational, planning, and facilitation skills, are necessary to achieve results through collaboration with others. n
- Proficient computer skills are required, with a preference for experience in SAP. n
