nPrep Cook position is committed to consistently creating an exceptional product and focusing on a high standard of quality in all aspects of their day-to-day responsibilities including but not limited to preparation of recipes and menu items, sanitation, and safety compliance. The Prep Cook should have the ability to prepare recipes quickly, accurately, and consistently and have exceptional time management skills. The line cook is expected to promote teamwork by cooperating with management and collaborating whenever possible with other team members.
nREPORTS TO: Manager / GM SALARY / GRADE LEVEL: Hourly / Non-Exempt
nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
nPerform routine kitchen tasks
nFollow the prep list created to plan duties
nEnsure all ingredients have arrived for the day and alert Kitchen Manager of shortages
nLabel and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
nMeasure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
nPrepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables and cutting and slicing meat
nSet up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes
nUndertake basic cooking duties including but not limited to preparing sauces, stocks and jams.
nMaintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash, recycling and compost
nEnsure that all food and other items are stored properly
nWash pots, pans, dishes, trays and cooking and eating utensils
nOrganize and restocking cookware and dishware
nClean and sanitize dish station equipment and floors
nESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
nFood Handlers Certificate (or must be willing to obtain)
nWilling to work a flexible schedule and weekends
nAbility to multitask efficiently
nFamiliar with kitchen equipment and appliances
nAbility to follow recipes accurately
nStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
nAbility to lift 50+ pounds
nAbility to work standing for 8+ hours
