Job Description
Mechanical Engineer
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
Complete launch of Suspension/Member/Link/Axle parts/systems while achieving targets for performance, quality, cost, and timing.
Conduct the following duties: basic calculations & design predictions utilizing common engineering methods as well as Nissan-specific approaches, CAD design studies, specification creation & issuance to suppliers, cost planning and analysis, drawing release, and root cause problem solving of various design or part related items.
Interface with related NTCNA departments and global Nissan R&D and suppliers.
Study field quality issues and manufacturing related issues through the application of problem-solving techniques, conduct root cause investigation, deploy solutions into production, and monitor field warranty claims.
Plant support; support plant investigation requests.
Value optimization; engineer components to maximize value without sacrificing performance.
Qualifications:
Job Knowledge and Skill:
Technical understanding of automotive design and development processes, production, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Some experience with Suspension/Member/Link/Axle components & systems (springs, dampers, bushings, bearings, members, links, axle housings, etc.) is preferred. Detailed engineering experience a plus.
Familiar with various problem solving methodologies (5-Why, Is/Is-Not, Fault Tree Analysis, etc).

Interpersonal/communicative skills, especially considering unique cross-cultural needs
Knowledge of CAD (NX), FEA/FEM analysis
Early/late working hours as business needs dictate
Passion for automobiles and/or Nissan products is a plus!
Experience:
Minimum of Internship/Co-op/SAE experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline. BSME preferred
Technology Skills:
Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
Travel:
Between 5% and 10% day and overnight travel, MVR required
