Electrical Power Design Engineer Location: Alpharetta, GA | Hybrid Remote / Onsite | Travel ~25%

We're hiring a Power-Focused Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly respected firm known for its high employee retention (8+ years on average) , strong leadership, and meaningful project work in the heavy industrial sector - including pipelines, refineries, and petrochemical facilities.
This is a direct hire role with a flexible salary range of $110K-$150K , depending on experience. If you're seeking a hands-on, technically challenging role in a team-oriented environment, this is absolutely worth a conversation.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the development of comprehensive electrical design packages suitable for PE stamping and plan check submittals.
  • Create and manage detailed documentation including:
    • Load studies, single line diagrams, conduit/cable schedules
    • Plot plans, lighting, grounding, and equipment installation details
    • Bills of material and construction specifications
  • Perform site walkdowns, factory acceptance testing, and commissioning support for power systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain quality, budgets, and schedules.
  • Support proposals, technical scoping, and cost estimation for new project opportunities.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support to internal or external clients.
  • Travel up to 25% as needed (including air travel) for site visits and client work.
Technical Experience We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for heavy industrial environments.
    • Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE 3000 Series (formerly known as color books), and API 500 (preferred)
  • Proficiency with:
    • AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
    • Power system modeling tools: ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower
    • Relay settings: GE Multilin and SEL
  • Experience with area classification drawings, motor schematics, and lightning protection is a plus.
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills are a must.
Education & Licensing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • FE certification required.
