Electrical Engineer

Selectek is looking for an Electrical Engineer in Alpharetta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting project proposals; work scope and cost estimates; preparation of industrial electrical, control and instrumentation designs; and related documents. Other duties include project engineering, preparation of procurement specifications and test plans, vendor document reviews, construction support and participating in the commissioning of systems, off and on-site. You will work on a variety of projects from concept to implementation and apply your broad knowledge and experience on a wide range of different tasks within the discipline. ÂnRequired:nnBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.nRegistered or eligible for P.E registration (EIT is fine) - or ability to obtain an EIT or PE quickly if they have Pulp and Paper experience.nA thorough understanding of power related studies (Load Flow, Power Factor Correction, Protective Device Coordination, Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Ground Grid, as a minimum) is an asset.n4-10 years of experience in an industrial design, plant and/or construction environment.nProficient in engineering software applications such as database tools, AutoCAD, Easy Power and/or ETAP;nBroad knowledge of all electrical and controls design areas including substations, utility interfaces, power distribution, system studies, electrical services, process control systems, variable frequency drives, PLC, DCS, HMI systems would be an asset;nThorough understanding of codes, governing regulations, and industry practices;nProject engineering and/or consulting engineering experience is an asset;nExperience in the Pulp & Paper or chemical manufacturing industry is an asset.nExcellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate with team members and interface with clients in a multi-disciplined environment.nTechnical competence and strong attention to detail.nPrevious consulting engineering experience is preferrednnJob Details:nnContributing to electrical engineering and design for industrial plants and processes including medium & low voltage power distribution, motor control centers, power and control schemes, single line diagrams, equipment and cable tray layouts, cable and conduit routings, grounding, lighting layouts and supporting power studies;nContributing to instrumentation and controls engineering and design including process control systems (DCS/PLC), instrumentation specification and design, cable schedules;nOversee the quality of engineering drawings and documentation;nAble to complete projects on time and within budget.nEnsure that engineering design specifications are as per contract;nInteract with project managers, suppliers, clients and contractors;nTroubleshoot electrical and I&C issues;nProvide support to contractors during construction and commissioning;nReview vendor drawings;nConduct meetings with clients and contractors.nnPay range: $38.46/hour - $57.69/hour ($80,00 - $120,000 annual salary)ÂnTerm of assignment:  6 months contract to hire (possible direct hire for PE who can stamp)nLocation of job: Alpharetta, GAnHours & Shift: Typical week is Monday - Thursday, 9-hour days and Friday 4-hour day (remote on Friday). Flexible with the hours;  hours are between 7:00am - 6:00pmnWork from home: Yes on Friday, possible other daysnWorking remote: No, need to be near office to come in when needednOvertime: maybe at timesnTravel: Yes, but only expected for a day or two at most 1x/monthnWork Attire: Business Casual / JeansnDoes the client require a background check and drug test?
