Our client, a civil engineering firm is seeking an energetic Structural Engineer with experience within the Existing Buildings Renovation / Multi-Family residential consulting / design industry. Lead and manage engineering projects, oversee design development, provide technical expertise, and ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget and timeline.
nnResponsibilities:

- Utilizes technical expertise to support architectural and engineering design processes. n
- Performs design, calculations and CAD drawings. n
- Performs peer review of other technical data prepared by third party entities. n
- Design various civil/structural, and/or building envelope details and plans. n
- Review and approve contractor change orders, applications for payment, and RFIs. n
- Perform inspections, including site investigations, data collection, analysis, to determine the root cause of failures, defects, or other issues. n
- Performs a wide range of testing, including but not limited to material testing, structural analysis, and performance evaluations. n
- Supervises testing activities and ensures accurate data collection for the accurate interpretation of results. n
- Assist in the development and review of technical specifications, drawings, and construction documents. n
- Generate comprehensive field reports detailing observations, measurements, and findings from site visits and inspections. n
- Generate expert reports that provide in-depth analysis, conclusions, and recommendations based on project requirements and findings. n
- Effective communication skills to relay report content and observations to stakeholders during meetings. n
- Works closely with the team to understand the scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline to ensure project success. n
- Provide assistance, advice and recommendations to different team members regarding technical issues on various projects. n
Requirements:

- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering or Architecture. n
- 3+ years in residential construction, framing and deck design or relevant work experience. n
- Work with existing buildings and residential multi-family construction experience isrequired. n
- Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license required. n
- Maintain compliance with licensing requirements and applicable regulations. n
- OSHA - 10 Certification . n
- Valid United States Drivers License required, as this position requires travel to and from client sites. n
- Professional and courteous interaction with clients and colleagues. n
- Familiarity with AIA standard contract documents and forms. n
- Familiarity with drafting software for positions that utilize the software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Revit) for positions that utilize the software. n
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, fostering a positive and productive work environment, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members from various disciplines. n
- Ability to work in the field and to travel outside local areas as workload and projects when needed. n
