POSITION OVERVIEWS:
The Resident Engineer (RE) leads onsite management and supervision of ADA-compliant upgrades at multiple subway stations for the MTA C&D's Package 9 project. This full-time, role involves managing contractor performance, ensuring project quality, and coordinating closely with MTA personnel and stakeholders. The Resident Engineer will directly oversee construction activities, enforce compliance with MTA standards, specifications, and ADA requirements, while proactively addressing challenges associated with performing construction in active subway environments

POSITION OVERVIEWS:

This full-time, role involves managing contractor performance, ensuring project quality, and coordinating closely with MTA personnel and stakeholders. The Resident Engineer will directly oversee construction activities, enforce compliance with MTA standards, specifications, and ADA requirements, while proactively addressing challenges associated with performing construction in active subway environments
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead daily onsite management, ensuring contractor adherence to ADA standards and contract specifications.
- Conduct inspections, monitor construction quality, progress, and compliance with MTA procedures.
- Oversee contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and associated construction documents.
- Maintain proactive oversight of construction schedules and recommend corrective actions to address potential delays.
- Enforce MTA safety standards through regular audits and reporting.
- Coordinate closely with MTA stakeholders, design consultants, and contractors, including force account management.
- Technical expertise in ADA compliance, vertical transportation, and station rehabilitation.
- Experience managing complex transit construction projects, ideally within active subway environments.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with commercial management, scheduling practices, and cost controls.
- Ability to manage MTA force account coordination effectively.
- ASITE Experience
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Procore or equivalent MTA systems
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- PE license preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as Resident Engineer on MTA or NYCT station improvement or ADA upgrade projects.
- OSHA and MTA Track Safety certifications strongly preferred.
