Trade Compliance Manager TCRS4509
HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Trade Compliance Manager will develop and implement a trade compliance program including all aspects of export regulations to ensure compliance with U.S. export laws and other government agencies, and countries regulations where trade related activities are conducted.
This position will support a large global company in a highly regulated, industrial manufacturing environment.
This is an hybrid position (1-2 days remote) based in Palo Alto, CA. Reporting to the VP of Engineering.
EXPECTATIONS
Oversight of OFAC, ITAR, EAR, and antiboycott compliance policies
Conduct internal audits, assess risks, and implement corrective action solutions to ensure compliance
Expert for ECCN Classification, Restricted Party Screening, Sanctions & Embargoes
Manage product HTS classification, valuation, country of and free trade agreement eligibility
Collaborate with internal and external partners to support trade activities
Manage key risks, including classification, transshipment, controlled technology, etc.
Prepare and manage export licenses, EEI filings, export documentation and record keeping
Create & implement technology control plans, security plans, approval of facility and system access
Lead trade-related aspects of facility visitor management process
Manage and maintain end user certifications
Provide trade compliance training and support to cross functional teams
Back up Facility Security Officer on activities related to trade compliance
Serve as locations Empowered Official with authority to reject or approve an export
Strong bias for action with the confidence to make risk-based and data driven decisions
ESSENTIALS
10+ years of experience in trade compliance and licensing
In-depth knowledge of CBP, ITAR, EAR, BIS, ATF regulations
Experience as an Empowered Official
Must have the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory matters to the business stakeholders
Strong attention to detail, communication & critical thinking skills, ability to manage multiple projects
Knowledge with U.S. Government security clearance procedures
Understanding of the Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
Experience in aerospace and defense
