Key Responsibilities:
Set up, prime, initiate, and monitor cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and support transitions through weaning and resumption of natural circulation .
Operate and manage mechanical assist devices including ECMO and IABP .
Perform and support complex cardiovascular surgeries including but not limited to:
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Aortic Valve Replacement
Mitral Valve Replacement
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR)
Aorto-bicaval and femoral cannulation
Ascending aorta cannulation
MAZE procedures
Pericardial window creation
Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) ligation
Apply specialized myocardial preservation techniques and cardioplegia administration , including hypothermic circulatory arrest .
Manage temperature regulation , adequacy of perfusion , and blood conservation strategies throughout procedures.
Conduct point-of-care testing (POCT) using equipment such as I-STAT for real-time decision-making.
Ensure effective patient monitoring and safety through all phases of extracorporeal circulation.
Implement and adhere to isolation precautions and all fire safety/emergency management protocols.
