We are currently seeking a Development Officer, Philanthropic Connections.
CJPs Development department consists of a vibrant and innovative team of committed professionals. A Development Officer on the Philanthropic Connections team will be a central member of this team, with a vision to help develop and manage creative event experiences to engage various segments of donor/prospect populations, focusing on Womens Philanthropy programming, in service of philanthropy and fostering a stronger connection to CJP.
Essential Functions:
- Create, plan, implement, and staff events and/or special projects in support of fundraising priorities and leadership engagement, ranging from 20-300 people.
- Work collaboratively with other staff on various philanthropic programs and events.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 - 80 donors and prospects, establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships.
- Solicit gifts directly and prepare senior colleagues for solicitations.
- Work in partnership with campaign leadership to identify, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
- Collaborate with other CJP professionals and community organizations.
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
BA/BS degree or equivalent knowledge or experience.
Experience:
1-3 years experience in development.
Skills/Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing events.
- Proficient in Windows environment, including MS Word, Excel; Technical proficiency in databases and the internet.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, creative, entrepreneurial environment.
Organizational Relationships/Scope:
Reports to Associate Director, Philanthropic Connections. Has no direct reports.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office; remote option on other days. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
