Job Description:
We are looking for a Custodian II to support the Salt Lake City Gallivan Center.
About the Position:
This role focuses on event support and the cleaning and upkeep of retail lobbies, stage building, Gallivan Hall, and outdoor banquet and event spaces. Weekends, holidays and night shifts are required. As a Custodian II, you'll be instrumental in shaping the guest experience by helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Gallivan Center is a 3.5-acre public plaza in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, featuring an outdoor amphitheater, public art installations, multiple indoor and outdoor event and rental spaces, and a seasonal ice rink that becomes sports courts in warmer months. You'll be joining a passionate and friendly group of around 10 full-time staff and 25-30 part-time, seasonal team members who work together to create memorable experiences for our guests. Position Salary Range:
Entry: $16.06/hr.
1 Year: $18.06/hr.
3 Year: $21.12/hr.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervises, inspects, and participates in varied custodial duties; sweeps, waxes, and mops floors; vacuums rugs, moves office furniture, and cleans windows. Operates low pressure boiler; turns on and off, check temperatures, and adjusts thermostats. Locks and unlocks doors and prevents trespassing in and around the buildings. May assist in yard maintenance, cut grass, and prepare flower beds. Establishes work routine for other custodial workers and keeps records of time worked. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment; orders and distributes as necessary. Repairs light fixtures, clears clogged plumbing, and performs other maintenance on the building. May perform any or all duties as listed for Custodian I. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment essential for janitorial and maintenance work. Ability to assign and inspect the work of custodians engaged in building cleaning operations. Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to building equipment and cleaning machines. Physical condition to do continuous cleaning work. Working Conditions:
Moderate physical activity as encountered in the effect to push, pull or lift medium weights. May have a few disagreeable elements. Little or no exposure to stress as a result of human behavior.
