General Sales Manager – East
to join our team. We’re looking for an individual to be responsible for achieving targeted gross margin levels and market share results within both factory-direct retail sales and dealer sales territories. Essential Functions: 1. Primary Responsibilities: Identify, develop and implement go-to-market sales channel and distribution strategies that support achievement of Timpte’s Mission and Annual Operating Plan (“AOP”) targets associated with all Timpte wholegood sales within your assign geographic region. Develop and utilize factory-direct retail sales and/or dealer sales channels to achieve AOP targets within both existing and new geographic markets. AOP targets ranked in order of priority include the following (i) Semitrailer MS%, (ii) Semitrailer standard margin, (iii) Equipment trailer unit sales, (iv) Equipment trailer standard margins, and (v) Sales expense management. Collect and disseminate all relevant information from your sales team to ensure timely and effective sales and operations planning, raw material costs and inventory levels, and sales forecasting. Consistently meet/exceed committed semitrailer and equipment trailer monthly closing targets. Support New Product Development (NPD) programs to achieve associated milestone dates and sales targets for each new model. 2. In collaboration with the Customer Support team and other cross-functional departments, develop and implement business management reporting systems and processes that drive improved work-flow efficiency and productivity throughout the entire value chain. 3. Support development of marketing and promotional materials (e.g. catalogs, brochures, social media and website updates, advertising campaigns, etc.) in support of ongoing sales activities and trade show participation. 4. Collect, analyze and disseminate competitive and market intelligence in support of Timpte’s ongoing NPD Programs and pricing strategies. 5. Recruit and retain additional employees to the sales team as supported by the business fundamentals and related financial metrics. 6. Perform additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 10-15 years experience in sales and related positions of progressively increasing responsibility, including management of a sales and/or Dealer distribution team with a minimum of $100M+ in annual sales revenue. 2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 3. Must possess strong leadership skills by having a comprehensive understanding of how all relevant aspects of the business should be conducted and ensuring that “best practices” are followed consistently. 4. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc. 5. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record for extensive travel.
