As a Tool & Die Specialist, you will support die-set maintenance and tooling changes for production in the 4680 Cell Can Stamping Department. The ideal candidates will possess excellent craftsmanship, the ability to troubleshoot, and a commitment to safety and production goals.Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and tooling changes for production die-setsSupport the design and implementation of tooling changes to accommodate part modificationsMaintain and manage die-set preventative maintenance (PM) system, including scheduling and updating work instructionsTroubleshoot defects and support the preparation of die check sheets and trial proceduresMaintain die-set spare parts lists, ensuring parts are stocked and readily availableDevelop and implement systems to reduce defects, improve productivity, and minimize downtimeCollaborate on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify risks and create control plans for production dies Requirements 3+ years of hands-on experience. Apprenticeship certification in Tool & Die or equivalent experienceExperience with high-speed die-sets, including tooling material selection, and knowledge of CNC die surface machining, welding, and spottingFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing principles (waste elimination, continuous improvement, Just-in-Time, etc.)Ability to interpret dimensional inspection results (CMM, checking fixture, or vision systems)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and strong analytical skillsAbility to work independently and in a team, managing tight deadlines and competing prioritiesMust have command of the English language, both written and verbalEssential Physical Demands:Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day on varied and uneven terrain including concrete surfacesStoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/dayMust be able to frequently and repetitively lift/carry 30 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. infrequentlyFrequently and repetitively push heavy carts and dolliesThe ability to carry up to 20 lbs. up and down flights of stairs multiple times a dayClimb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures while bearing hand tools on their person.
