nTHE ROLE
nThe Jr. Mechanical Engineer will work in our Lincolnton, NC office and will assist our engineering team with the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of mechanical systems and components. This entry level engineering role will provide the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge from your studies to practical, real-world engineering challenges. You will gain exposure to a wide range of engineering processes and tools while working alongside experienced engineers.
nThis position will be an onsite role with onsite training accompanied by in-field learning.
nThe Jr. Mechanical Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager.
nnDuties and Responsibilities
n· Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems and components.
n· Support the creation and modification of engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
n· Support the creation of BOM’s (Bills of Materials) and prototypes.
n· Conduct calculations and simulations to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
n· Help with hands-on assembly, fabrication, and testing of mechanical systems or products.
n· Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
n· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve engineering problems.
n· Participate in project meetings and contribute to brainstorming and problem-solving sessions.
n· Perform other duties assigned to support engineering team needs.
nRequirements:n
nQualifications:
nnWork on-site, 5 days/week. Live within commuting distance to our Lincolnton, NC location.
nn· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology or equivalent work experience.
n· Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, product development from concept to production, material selection, mechanics of materials.
n· Ability to create 2D drawings with dimensions and tolerances from 3D models
n· Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop )
n· Proficiency in Excel and mathematics skills
n· Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes
n· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
n· Ability to manage time effectively and work independently as well as part of a team.
n· Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a professional engineering environment.
n· 3D printing experience is a plus.
