Principal Contracts Specialist
We are looking for a highly-motivated and experienced Principal Contracts Specialist who can provide immediate contributions to support critical DoD and Commercial Aerospace program pursuits. As a Principal Contracts Specialist at Collins Aerospace Mission Systems (Integrated Missions Solutions, Thermal Electronics and Defense Solutions, Electronics Solutions), you will be responsible for performing contracts management and compliance functions for both prime and subcontracts, from capture through proposal, negotiation through contract award and all phases of contract administration. What You Will Do: Providing contract administration support by reviewing, interpreting and negotiating contract requirements, contract change / modification impacts, Performing proposal preparation, contract negotiation and administration assistance for programs and special projects as assigned Advising Contracts and Program leadership of contractual rights, obligations and risks: conducting risk assessments, creating risk mitigation plans and proposing alternative approaches to contract execution through redlines Serving as an authorized, empowered representative for Collins, interfacing with Customer buying command representatives to build effective relationships and manage contracts to support operational/strategic business goals Coordinating solutions to contractual issues and Customer concerns related to Contract Performance and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations Leading and supporting audits, as appropriate, with internal and external audit teams and agencies to support proposal and contract related activities and business systems compliance verification Evaluating and coordinating proposals, investigating and reconciling significant contract changes involving cost, specifications, data requirements, schedules, etc. Supporting Contract Manager with collecting contractual data and compiling reports in response to Collins/RTX corporate and Mission Systems level data calls Contract Closeout: ensuring timely contract closure by initiating closeout activities as required by terms and conditions. For contracts that include USG Property, ensuring that Contract Closeout Letters (Property Clearance) are submitted to the Contract Administration Office (CAO) and/or Prime Contractor Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelors degree in a related field with 5 years of professional experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with 3 years of professional experience Working knowledge of the FAR/DFARS.
