Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented college students to join our organization in an internship capacity. This internship position is within Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Georgia - Columbus Engine Center team. The intern will be mentored by the Engine Center Supervisors and will engage in the duties listed below: Assist in mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine sections and accessories. Assist in cleaning of engine parts and components. Assist with visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable. Understand the basic inspection techniques as a part of a career development path. Demonstrate commitment to safety and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities. Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise. FAA Safety Sensitive Position Qualifications you must have: Currently enrolled in an Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) at an FAA approved school and completed the General curriculum at a minimum. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Qualifications we prefer: Currently enrolled in an Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program at a local college or university and possess either an Airframe or Powerplant rating. Minimum 3.0 GPA This position is classified as onsite. Employees who work in onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
