American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Patient Care Manager with a background in psychiatry and med-surg experience, as well as required advanced certifications.
Job Details
•Work in an acute psychiatric unit with 45 beds divided into sections, •Evening shifts, two 12.5-hour shifts per week with one hour lunch each, •Patient population includes adults and pediatrics with severe mental illness and behavioral health needs, •Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:6 to 1:12 depending on acuity, •IM injections and PO administration of psychotropic medications required; no IVs, •Uses Allscripts (Altera) EMR, with Cerner for blood draws and transfusions, •Required to work every other weekend and may be included in the holiday rotation, •May be asked to float to inpatient units as needed, •Royal blue scrubs required,
Job Requirements
•Active RN license required, •Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required; med-surg experience preferred, •Experience in a nursing manager or supervisory role required, •Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or CPI; willing to train if needed, •MSN preferred; Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing preferred, •Experience with de-escalation and use of leather restraints strongly preferred, •Ability to use Allscripts (Altera) EMR and Cerner systems,

•Lead and coordinate nursing staff for high-acuity psychiatric and behavioral health patients, •Work with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, residents, patient care techs, and ancillary staff, •Participate in performance improvement, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives, •Three weeks of orientation provided, including classroom, inpatient units, and unit-specific training, •Security is present in-house 24/7 to support safety, •First time travelers will be considered, •May be responsible for regulatory requirements related to restraints, behavioral health, and suicide prevention,], •hash,: •13809205292745766322,
