General Maintenance (Skilled Trade) 2nd Shift
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe or electrical systems. The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations to diagnose problem or repair machine. Dismantles defective machines and equipment. Installs new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment. Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment. Sets up and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment. Fabricates and repairs. Performs routine maintenance. Other duties may be assigned. Essential Skills and Experience: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail, safety, and quality a must! MUST pass a drug screen, physical, and background check prior to employment Beneficial Skills and Experience: Previous experience in a general maintenance or similar role preferred. Mitsubishi plc Omron Education/Training/Certifications: One-year certificate from college or technical school, or two (2) to four (4) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
