POSITION OVERVIEW First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) is seeking a full-time Payroll/HR Coordinator to support the Human Resources Department. This role is responsible for processing payroll for FBCG, SMI, PGCA, and any current or future subsidiaries of those organizations, supporting benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. The Payroll/HR Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, manage legal compliance reporting (including FMLA, workers compensation, and unemployment insurance), and train new time and attendance supervisors in ADP Workforce Now. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in payroll processing and HR systems. This position report to the Human Resources Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES Payroll Processing & Compliance: Process semi-monthly and monthly payrolls accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain payroll records, process adjustments, garnishments, and benefits deductions. Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and issue resolution. Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll discrepancies. Monitor and process FMLA, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and EEO-1 reports. Benefits & Leave Administration: Support employee benefits enrollment, changes, and compliance. Assist with annual open enrollment and benefits record maintenance. Administer leave requests, including FMLA and disability claims. Time & Attendance & Onboarding: Train new time and attendance supervisors in ADP Workforce Now. Monitor employee time records and resolve discrepancies. Process new hire payroll setup and serve as a backup for new hire orientation. HR Administrative Support: Monitor the payroll email inbox and respond to employee inquiries. Assist with internal audits, compliance reports, and payroll reconciliations. Support HR leadership in managing payroll-related policies and documentation. QUALIFICATIONS Spiritual Alignment: Must be saved, have a servants heart, and be a member in good standing (or willing to join) at FBCG. Must submit to authorities as defined by the Pastor and uphold Christian values. Education & Experience: Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Resources , Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll and HR experience. Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now highly preferred). ADP Certified Payroll Specialist desired. Technical & Professional Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access). Strong Excel skills, including light data modeling and formulas. Outstanding attention to detail and ability to set deadlines and meet deadlines provided. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll and HR data.
