Sales Manager
Location: Holiday Inn Columbia East, Columbia, MO 65201 Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business, growing existing accounts, and achieving revenue goals for the hotel. This role focuses on developing relationships with corporate clients, associations, and groups to maximize occupancy and revenue, while maintaining Holiday Inn's service and brand standards. Key Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and solicit new business through networking, cold calls, prospecting, and market research. Manage existing accounts to maximize repeat business and ensure customer satisfaction. Prepare and present sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and close business to achieve monthly and annual revenue goals. Collaborate with revenue management and operations teams to optimize group and transient business. Conduct site inspections, property tours, and presentations for prospective clients. Attend trade shows, networking events, and community functions to represent the hotel. Maintain accurate records of sales activities in the property management system (PMS/CRM). Work with catering and banquet teams to ensure seamless execution of group events and meetings. Analyze local market trends and competitor performance to adjust strategies accordingly. Submit timely reports including sales calls, booking pace, and forecast updates. Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards and Holiday Inn policies. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of hotel sales experience, preferably with an IHG or branded select-service property. Strong knowledge of local market and corporate travel trends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems (Delphi, Opera, or similar). Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with operations and revenue teams. Flexible schedule with availability to attend evening/weekend events as required. Core Competencies
