The Materials Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels in a complex inventory system. This position receives and processes orders for materials and merchandise. Utilizes order tracking systems to process orders, record prices, delivery dates, inventory status, maintain customer information, and other data related to each transaction. Essential Functions:
Coordinates and participates in the annual physical inventory. Manages surplus and storage areas of the inventory section. Affixes inventory barcodes and stock tags to new equipment. Prepares inventory data for entry into the computer. Receives and processes incoming shipments of material supply goods. Receives and issues property items. Ensures stock is accurate and functional. Logs materials that have been received and/or taken from inventory. Confirms orders, updates shipping status, and documents any backorders or delivery delays. Disposes of obsolete items. Solves routine problems concerning the location of property in storage and inventory discrepancies. Reports damages and discrepancies following applicable procedures. May perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or inventory control. General knowledge of clerical, word processing, and/or Microsoft excel/office skills. Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data. Ability to organize efficiently. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to work effectively in a team environment setting with associates. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Six (6) months of clerical experience. BLS certified or must complete certification within 90-days of hire. Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
