Location: San Francisco, CRI This role will be at our Heredia, Costa Rica location. The role is 100% onsite (no flexibility for remote or hybrid work.) Key Responsibilities: Will prepare project plan and coordinates the attainment of project deliverables from planning to implementation. Technical Manufacturing Skills: Intermediate knowledge of manufacturability/producibility practices specific to CNC fabrication of metal, plastic, sheet metal, ceramics, gas lines welding, and cable assemblies. Perform technical calculations utilizing CAD model quoting software on individual build-to-print parts and assemblies to determine a fair and acceptable price and lead times for both Applied Materials and our suppliers. Identify manufacturability improvements and corrections and present these to internal teams to drive continuous design improvement. Analyze manufacturing processes of a sub-assembly/part and generate process steps. Knowledge of latest manufacturing processes. Understanding of GD&T standards for proper application. Able to explain to suppliers how to interpret. Good communication skills to work with cross functional teams like Materials/Mfg./Quality/Suppliers are a must. Run true-up negotiations to provide detail and support with pricing/lead time negotiations; think on your feet, be able to talk to parts. Detail orientation/analytical methodology. Functional Knowledge: Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines Business Expertise: Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Leadership: Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements Problem Solving: Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Impact: Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies Interpersonal Skills: Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Job Specific Knowledge & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering preferred, 8+ years related years of experience. Prior CNC machine shop or fabrication experience preferred. Prior technical knowledge in mechanical design, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Build to Print Manufacturing, MCAD, ECAD, PDM, PLM, BOM and configuration management, ERP integration, Collaboration.
