Continuing Education Instructor

Consider joining City Colleges of Chicago's Continuing Education Department as a part-time manufacturing instructor. We are looking for dedicated and personable instructors to teach courses in all areas of manufacturing. This teaching opportunity can be in-person at our main campuses throughout the city or at our satellite campuses. There are also online courses and opportunities to work with corporate and government partners. Key Responsibilities Teach or develop courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students' active participation in their own learning. Create an effective learning environment that fosters students' intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies. Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course. Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student's ability to learn. Adhere to City Colleges of Chicago code of ethics, Board rules and policies. Subject Areas Manufacturing Processes Quality Control Automation and Robotics Manufacturing Software Manufacturing Materials Manufacturing Safety Manufacturing Management Manufacturing Sustainability Manufacturing Certifications Manufacturing Education Industrial Maintenance Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or a related technical field. OR Five years of experience in manufacturing, including expertise in one or more of the subject areas listed above. OR Journeyman apprenticeship status plus three years' experience in one or more of the subject areas above. Preferred Qualifications Experience with curriculum development and instructional design. Bilingual English and Spanish.
