Senior Accountant

Responsible for leading assigned staff accountants during month-end close for multiple entities and locations to: Review, approve and ensure that transactions are recorded and reconciled to subsystems as required Review and record all monthly inventory counts and related COGS, prepaid and accrual journal entries, among others Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and adjust as needed Review and approve staff's balance sheet account reconciliations, providing guidance and assistance to resolve outstanding items Prepare and oversee timely and accurate bank account reconciliations to include researching and recording any outstanding items Conduct analytical review of statements of operations and balance sheets and document monthly variances in partnership with site general managers and staff Communicate pertinent financial information to site general managers and corporate leaders as necessary Oversee the preparation and review of monthly sales and use tax returns in partnership with Tax Director Assist site general managers, FP&A, and corporate staff on the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets Work with Accounting department leadership to ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP Identify, recommend and implement improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls to promote compliance, consistency, and efficiency Serve as a "go-to" problem-solver for staff accountants Collaborate with other senior accountants, promoting ongoing and timely communication among the team Prepare and review audit schedules as assigned Safeguard the company's assets by ensuring that all company policies, procedures, and internal controls are followed Actively participate in the Company's systems projects, including the new ERP implementation Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than their own Qualifications:
Ability to drive timeliness and accuracy within the team Strong attention to detail, while seeing the overall objective Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, delegate and hold team accountable Ability to direct and develop employees, delivering effectiveness through others Positive and professional attitude Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating servant-leader behaviors Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills Adaptable to evolving business needs Working Conditions:
Required to work overtime as needed to meet accounting deadlines Education:
Four-year Accounting degree with 3 to 6 years industry accounting experience preferred Supervisory experience of at least 1 to 2 years preferred CPA license is not required but is a plus Experience leading the monthly closing cycle and preparation of multiple site internal financial statements Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel and Word. Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills required. Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise system, FYIsoft reporting platform, Anaplan, or similar, experience a plus Multi-unit, private club, hospitality or property management accounting experience strongly preferred Knowledge of GAAP Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization. Physical Demands:
