HDR is seeking a national business class lead (BCL) for our fisheries facilities design group within the Water Business Group. The BCL will collaborate with the Fisheries Business Class Director, peers, and HDR teams to manage our fisheries facilities design business across the U.S. and Canada. Responsibilities include technical development, project coordination, quality assurance, and leadership in project delivery and design of fish hatcheries and aquaculture systems. Experience in designing upstream/downstream fish collection facilities, fish passage, acclimation facilities, and water treatment is desirable. Candidates with backgrounds in water systems engineering are also welcome. Your Role: Engage in fish facilities business development, including client interaction, scope development, and strategic planning. Review marketing proposals, technical scopes, and fee estimates for fisheries projects. Coordinate design center activities, staff assignments, and cross-disciplinary interactions. Lead quality control efforts, develop design standards, and implement BIM for fish hatchery projects. Ensure successful project setup and technical execution, expanding your engineering expertise. Qualifications: 15+ years in engineering design related to fish hatcheries, aquaculture, or water systems. PE licensure and NCEES registration preferred. Experience in plan development, specifications, and multidisciplinary project documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, BIM software (Revit, Civil 3D), and strong communication skills. Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering is preferred. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. At least 10 years of relevant experience. Professional registration and experience managing diverse teams. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with clients, demonstrating a commitment to quality and HDR values.
