Facility Overview:
We are a leading healthcare provider located in Muskegon, Michigan, seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to become part of our dynamic Psychiatry team at our Inpatient Psych Unit. This role offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as a supportive, collaborative work environment dedicated to patient-centered care.
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adult inpatients in a dedicated behavioral health unit.
- Perform initial psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and manage treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in coordination with the care team.
- Collaborate daily with a fully staffed multidisciplinary team including APPs, RNs, social workers, case managers, and other specialists.
- Participate in daily clinical rounds and contribute to patient-centered care discussions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Work a consistent Monday Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with built-in flexibility.
- Share in weekend call coverage on a rotating 1:4 schedule.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows within an academic-affiliated environment.
- Opportunity to pursue additional interests such as research, outpatient care, or leadership roles.
- Open to experienced Board Certified providers or Board Eligible recent graduates.
- Physicians must be board certified in their specialty, or board eligible and will become board certified within 2 years.
- New graduates with a focus on psychiatry are encouraged to apply.
- No candidates with lapsed Board Certification will be considered.
- Valid Michigan Medical License (REQUIRED at time of employment).
- DEA License (REQUIRED).
- BLS Certification and maintain recertification (REQUIRED).
- Must become Board Certified within 2 years if Board Eligible.
