Leidos is seeking a Load Balancer Network Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting a significant enterprise IT contract for the Department of Defense (DOD). This role focuses on the implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies across global networks. Responsibilities include updating technologies, optimizing performance, and applying critical system patches for both on-premises and cloud resources. Key Responsibilities Ensure the operational integrity of SSL/TLS offloading and PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance at all times. Backup load balancing configurations and PKI certificates in line with customer policies. Notify load balancing and reverse proxy customers ahead of PKI certificate expiration and assist with renewals as required. Administer, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces. Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop and implement technical solutions. Provide after-hours support to the IT Operations Center for troubleshooting service issues. Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures to assist 24/7 IT Operations Center personnel. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills: Expertise in administering F5 load balancer appliances in a large-scale enterprise setting. Knowledge of monitoring and management standards for F5 appliances. Technical proficiency in backing up PKI certificates and appliance configurations. Experience creating and troubleshooting load balanced IP address segments. Ability to work independently and meet customer requirements effectively. Strong collaborative skills to interface with team members on solutions. Experience with IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow. Certifications Required Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher). Must possess an F5 Certified Administrator (201) or higher certification. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience. Alternatively, an Associate's degree with 10 years or a High School Diploma with 12 years of relevant experience can substitute for a Bachelor's degree. Security Clearance Due to the nature of our government contracts, U.S. Citizenship is required. Must have or be willing to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
