with a proven track record of leadership in operational accounting. As a member of the Finance and Accounting team, you will report to the CFO and be responsible for the oversight and management of day-to-day accounting and the monthly close process. This position requires prior experience and knowledge in leading month-end close procedures, inventory and co-manufacturing entries, internal controls, and a strong understanding of GAAP. Duties will include managing the team that prepares journal entries, reconciles account balances, maintains the general ledger, supports the annual financial statement audit, and completes ad hoc projects and reporting as necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team, collaborating both within and outside the accounting department, working in a fast-paced environment, and have a desire to problem-solve. We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and organized individual who is energized by working through ambiguity and developing best practices. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Oversee Ripple’s accounting function, including the monthly close process:
Direct manager for AP Team Cash management oversight - payments, wire transfers, credit cards, etc. Hands on work to process monthly close in a timely manner; review reconciliations and general ledger transactions to ensure accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP. Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis and document variance analyses. Oversee reporting on a monthly basis, preparation of financial statements
Work with CFO and FP&A to prepare budgets, AOP, etc. Manage external annual audit, assist with 401(k) audit Be Ripple’s inventory expert:
Work closely with the supply chain leadership to ensure inventory transactions and processes are accurate and up to date Oversight of journal entries and reconciliations for inventory and inventory related accounts and other Balance Sheet accounts.
Drive new processes and technology solutions Collaborate with People Ops on payroll requirements, accounting, and reporting Develop and maintain effective SOPs and control environment Manage corporate income/sales tax compliance
Review/prepare monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns and CRV reporting.
Track and manage company assets Participate in a wide variety of ad-hoc projects QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a proven leader with previous experience with CPG in a retail setting. You must be comfortable—even happiest—working in a start-up like environment. You will need solid communication skills, and the ability to communicate your work clearly and succinctly to company management.
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance is required for this position.
