The Head of FX, Derivatives & ETD's / Clearing oversees and manages the teams supporting the end-to-end Middle Office and Operations processes covering FX, OTC Derivatives, and ETDs & Clearing for SCIB US. This role reports to the US SCIB Pre and Post Trade Head of Markets. The objectives are to: 1) ensure flawless execution of Middle Office and Operations for the products in scope, and 2) support the Business Lines and Clients through the trade lifecycle processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to all policies & procedures, as well as regulatory obligations. The role involves leading the FX, Derivatives & ETD's / Clearing team, driving department transformation efforts (including policy and process improvements), and maintaining a robust control framework to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the company's business units, aiming to deliver superior client service by optimizing people, processes, and technology to enhance financial performance and manage risks.
Build sustainable, repeatable capabilities supporting high standards of service and execution.
Analyze data tools, business processes, and operational standards to improve service delivery.
Ensure operations meet company objectives, business needs, and regulatory requirements.
Research external developments and translate them into operational strategies.
Execute comprehensive FX, Derivatives & ETD's / Clearing management strategies.
Enhance policies and procedures for compliance with regulations and standards.
Present at senior governance forums.
Lead, mentor, and manage the team, overseeing recruitment, training, and resource allocation.
Supervise process execution locally and develop control frameworks for outsourced activities.
Create KPIs and KRIs for departmental activities.
Ensure compliance with rules and regulations, acting as main contact for audits and regulatory exams.
Lead departmental transformation initiatives aligned with global best practices.
Identify technological solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Collaborate with global partners and internal teams to manage risks and ensure a unified approach.
Engage with auditors, regulators, and vendors as needed.
Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Proficiency in FX, OTC Derivatives, ETD's / Clearing processes.
Attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Sound judgment in decision-making and risk assessment.
Ability to drive innovation and continuous process improvement.
FINRA Series 99 mandatory or Series 27 desirable (expected to pass Series 27 within 6 months).
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
10+ years managerial experience in FX, Derivatives, ETD's / Clearing Operations or Middle Office teams.
Additional Information
The salary range is $112,500 - $195,000 USD annually, based on skills, experience, and location.
