Job Description A Brief Overview We are seeking a highly capable Senior Construction Defect Claims Adjuster to join our team. This position can be based in one of our offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, Richmond (VA), Rockwood (PA), or San Antonio, or remotely within the continental United States. Our team works in-office five days a week to strengthen our culture, build connections, and drive profitability. The individual will report to the VP of Construction Defect Claims in Northern California and will adjudicate complex Construction Defect claims, ensuring excellent results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Adjudicate moderately complex commercial construction defect claims, with potential significant impact on departmental results, under limited technical direction.

Solve difficult problems requiring a broad understanding of issues.

Report claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.

Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and records to determine policy coverage.

Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing involved parties.

Manage claims in litigation and ensure timely case resolution.

Create and review reserves aligned with market and company policies.

Identify loss drivers and trends to reduce claims frequency and severity through data analysis.

Coordinate with expertise resources for case resolution.

Prepare documentation reports.

Apply creative solutions for optimal financial outcomes.

Negotiate effectively to reach cost-efficient solutions within your authority.

Process mail, prioritize workload, and communicate with parties involved.

Maintain a passion for strong claim management.

Qualifications

Strong business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company operates.

Minimum of five years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims involving exposure of $100,000 or more.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; alternative qualifications include two or more insurance designations or four additional years of relevant experience.

Licenses in multiple jurisdictions; ability to obtain additional licenses within three months of hire.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strategic evaluation skills and strong claim negotiation skills.

Ability to articulate financial value at various organizational levels.

Discretion and independent judgment in significant matters.

Proficient in MS Office and other business software.

Compensation The salary range varies by geographic location, with specific ranges provided for different regions, and is commensurate with experience. Employees are also eligible for bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
