Lead Counselor

As a Lead Counselor, you play a direct role in saving lives by providing counseling services to your assigned clients, including individual, family, and group therapy sessions, and promoting a long-term recovery environment. You will collaborate with the Clinical Director and Executive Director to establish and maintain a therapeutic environment and routine for our residents.
Requirements:
4-year degree in a social science discipline with a CSAC
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage, and family therapy, with one year of experience in the field (preferred)
CSAC, LMFT, LPC, LCSW, LSAT, or LRIC license preferred
CSAC-eligible candidates will also be considered
Responsibilities:
Assess the counseling needs of clients
Evaluate clients for substance abuse diagnosis using DSM criteria to determine appropriate level of care based on ASAM criteria
Develop discharge and continuum of care plans to ensure appropriate care levels
Document all counseling, assessments, referrals, and follow-ups in the client’s clinical record
Maintain client caseload, including case management, utilization review, treatment planning, and clinical charting
Coordinate support services for clients and families, recording services provided
Communicate with referral sources (legal, school, employer, etc.)
Facilitate interventions for crisis issues using a multidisciplinary team approach
Provide individual, group, and family counseling
Teach psychoeducation groups
Experience with substance use disorder treatment, including medication-assisted treatment
Comply with Pinnacle Treatment Centers’ policies and confidentiality laws (42-CFR, Pt 2)
