Technical Delivery Managers (TDMs)
are responsible for two key company objectives: (1) ensuring our customers achieve remarkable business results through technology engagements, and (2) driving customer growth via technology expertise, trusted advice, relationships, and demonstrated results. TDMs manage and deliver innovative solutions built on the Appian platform, overseeing all aspects of agile delivery, including risk management and impediment removal. They work closely with sales teams to drive growth in strategic accounts and integrated deals. Their activities include project management, account management, relationship building, financial management, opportunity qualification, problem identification, project/use case definition, demand management, services positioning, and account strategy, in partnership with Appian Sales, Partners, and Customer Success teams, including Customer Success Managers (CSMs). This role is based at our HQ in McLean, VA. Appian values in-person collaboration as a key driver of our mission to be the best. Employees are expected to work in the office 5 days a week to foster culture and teamwork, facilitating shared ideas and celebrating our people. To be successful, you need: Experience managing a book of business using financial tools and metrics Experience leading agile delivery teams and managing enterprise-scale technology programs, collaborating with architects and product designers to deliver solutions Understanding of customer strategic goals, technology positioning, application roadmaps, and business case development Experience with value selling methods and creating compelling business benefits for proposals and delivery Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, buyers, and influencers Intellectual curiosity, bias for action, ability to thrive in ambiguity, and excellent communication skills Industry experience in Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, or Manufacturing Experience with software consulting (ERP, CRM, BPM/Workflow, Data Integration, EAI) and enterprise architecture knowledge Basic qualifications: Proven support experience with FedCiv contracts 5+ years in an agile environment, with at least 1 year leading a team B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field Willingness to travel up to 10% annually #LI-KC1 Tools and Resources Training and Development: Focused on onboarding, continuous learning, mentorship, and programs like First-Friend Growth Opportunities: Leadership programs, Appian University, skills training, tuition reimbursement Community: Inclusivity through employee-led affinity groups for social, educational, and outreach activities About Appian Appian is a software company that automates business processes with its AI-Powered Process Platform, trusted by innovative organizations to improve workflows, unify data, and optimize operations for better growth and customer experiences.
