Subject Matter Expert - Finance

Subject Matter Expert - Finance (Education) Sierra7, Inc. is seeking an experienced Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Federal financial experience to support the Veterans Health Administration Office of Finance for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The SME will assist the Financial Management Team by utilizing VA's legacy financial system, FMS, and supporting the deployment of the new financial and acquisition system, iFAMS. This high-visibility project involves regular Congressional updates and aims to enhance financial processes benefiting Veterans. Position Responsibilities: Support internal and external audits, reviews, and related activities. Assist in reviewing and coordinating information for requests, including data compilation, analysis, and preparing draft inputs for government review. Analyze financial information related to financial statement reporting. Support risk assessments, monitoring, and reporting activities. Help develop and update guides and training tools for reports, reconciliations, and procedures. Prepare reports, review audit requests, and organize data to support audit responses, including exceptions and findings. Contribute to the development and editing of program documents such as SOPs, summaries, analysis reports, and recommendations. Assist in analyzing financial and operational data to support decision-making and performance improvements. Draft training materials, user guides, and process documentation. Create and maintain financial analysis reports, data compilations, and support documentation. Effectively communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences. Attend all required meetings with stakeholders.
