Sierra7, Inc. is seeking an experienced Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) with past Federal financial experience to join our team and work with the Veterans Health Administration Office of Finance for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this position, the Finance SME will be providing support to the Financial Management Team and the work performed will include utilizing VA's legacy financial system, FMS, and supporting the deployment of its new financial and acquisition system, iFAMS. The deployment of iFAMS has high visibility, with regular Congressional updates, and will have a positive impact to Veterans through strengthened financial accounting and processes.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide support for internal and external audits, reviews, and other related activities. Support review and coordination of information in response to requests, including providing administrative support, compiling data, conducting analyses, preparing draft technical inputs, and developing supporting documentation for Government review and approval. Analysis of financial information and activities related to financial statement reporting. Support for conducting risk assessments, reviews, monitoring, coordination, and reporting. Assist with the development and updating of guides and training tools for reports, reconciliations, processes and/or procedures, preparing routing reports, reviewing audit requests, and compiling, analyzing, and organizing requested data and documentation to support Government responses to audit inquiries, including summaries of exceptions (SOE) and notices of findings and recommendations (NFR) Support development and/or editing of program-level documents such as standard operating procedures, executive summaries, problem statements, reports of analysis, courses of action, and recommendations. Assist in the collection, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational data to support decision-making and performance improvement efforts. Draft training materials, user guides, and process documentation. Create and maintain financial management analysis reports, data compilations, and support documentation, including project assessment reports, briefing materials, and technical memoranda. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences. Attend all required meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements
Skills:
Demonstrated success as Finance Subject Matter Expert Strong ability to engage with an organization's senior leaders relating to large, complex organizations. Familiarity with VHA's VISN structure Past Federal financial experience. Demonstrated experience conducting internal and external audits and reviews Strong ability in financial analysis and statement reporting. Prior system implementation experience involving numerous legacy systems Experience with FMS, MinX, IFCAP (desired) Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Experience as a Chief Financial Officer for a large healthcare organization such as a medical center or VISN (desired) Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience Experience working in VA or other Government agency [desired] Ability to obtain government public trust clearance.
