JOB TITLE: Webmaster with Graphic Design Experience EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Part-Time Contract

JOB SUMMARY

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) is seeking a skilled and proactive Part-Time Webmaster with Graphic Design Experience to support the continued development and optimisation of its institutional website. This individual will work closely with the PR and Marketing Department and other internal stakeholders to ensure the BTVI website is visually aligned with our rebranding efforts, technically sound, user-friendly and strategically integrated with the institute's academic and administrative platforms. The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about using design and technology to improve user experience and support enrollment, communication and engagement across the BTVI network. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Main Responsibilities

Manage the ongoing development and maintenance of BTVI's WordPress-based website. Implement visual and structural updates in alignment with BTVI's evolving brand identity and rebranding strategy. Design on-brand assets such as banners, icons, infographics and digital flyers for web and institutional use. Enhance the functionality of the website by integrating key student and administrative tools (e.g., survey forms, document uploads, event registration). Liaise with internal departments and Family Island campuses and instructional service centres to assess needs and incorporate essential features into the website. Review and improve the website's usability, navigation, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices. Make strategic recommendations for content organization, layout and user interface improvements. Ensure the website is optimised for visibility on search engines (SEO), including metadata, keywording and speed optimisation. Provide basic analytics reporting and suggestions for increasing site engagement and performance. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

Experience

Proven experience managing and maintaining WordPress websites. Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent. Familiarity with web development basics (HTML, CSS; JavaScript is a plus). Understanding of SEO best practices and tools (e.g., Yoast, Google Search Console). Strong eye for design, attention to detail and ability to uphold brand consistency. Experience working with diverse stakeholders and translating institutional needs into effective web solutions. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Documents

At least two WordPress websites you have developed or maintained, highlighting specific contributions (design, structure, integrations, etc.). (max 1 page) describing your approach to website optimization, user experience and aligning design work with brand identity. Confirmation of proficiency

with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically
