smartdept. is searching for a Graphic Design Coordinator for a professional services client located in Grand Rapids, MI or Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of experience. This is a full-time onsite direct hire. Compensation for this position is expected to be 80-90K depending on experience level and fit.
The Graphic Design Coordinator will support the client's business development and marketing team by combining creative design expertise with project coordination skills. This role is responsible for designing, assembling, and maintaining polished, client-facing materials that reflect the client's brand standards. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented communicator with a strong creative eye, effective project management abilities, and a proven track record of thriving in collaborative, deadline-driven environments. What You'll Do:
Lead the design and production of visually compelling materials for marketing, client development, and practice initiatives Collaborate with internal teams to translate content into polished visual formats Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and brand alignment Maintain and apply approved style guides, templates, and branding standards Source, incorporate, and edit visual assets (photography, infographics, charts, logos) Prepare and package final deliverables for internal use, client presentation, print production, or digital distribution Maintain an organized archive of past design projects and marketing materials Regularly update graphics and templates for consistency and accuracy Design and update brochures, flyers, signage, and event materials Coordinate print production and digital distribution logistics Design print and digital advertisements and ensure alignment with publication specs and deadlines Provide visual support for marketing campaigns, events, and internal initiatives Assist the marketing team with proofreading, image editing, formatting, and brainstorming What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field Proficiency with graphic design software and tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, SharePoint) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Effective project management and time management abilities Experience in a law firm or professional services environment Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented mindset Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
