Landmarks Education Intern

For fall 2025, the College of Fine Arts is looking for a curious, adaptable, and motivated student employee to provide support for Landmarks, the public art program for The University of Texas at Austin. Landmarks makes great art free and accessible to all with nearly 50 works of modern and contemporary art spread across UT's campus. The education intern will support Landmarks' Education Coordinator with a range of projects, including managing the James Turell Skyspace, assisting with the launch of installations by internationally known artists, and developing programming for broad audiences. Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day activities of the James Turrell Skyspace, including scheduling and managing paid student attendants, recording attendance numbers, supervising reservation system, and responding to inquiries. Occasional assumption of attendant duties at the Skyspace may be required. Assist with volunteer recruitment, orientation, and coordination for the Landmarks Docent program Assist with programming and staffing for campus-wide events such as Explore UT, Austin Museum Day, Girl Day, and Paws for Public Art Assist with content development for educational materials such as activity guides, audio guides, and self-guided tours Design and/or support collaborative public programming to establish stronger community partnerships with Austin arts organizations Collaborate with other units on campus on new programming to reach students outside of the arts Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications

Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Interest in art education Optional: Work-Study award for the semester. Preferred Qualifications

Graduate student in Art Education Salary Range

$12/hour Working Conditions

Work performed in standard office conditions. Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation. The education intern may occasionally assume attendant duties at the Skyspace, which is located on the rooftop deck of the WCP and exposed to seasonal weather conditions. The Skyspace is a semi-enclosed space with up to 25 visitors per night. Work Shift

10 hours per week Position ends on 12/31/2025 Must be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends. Rehire eligible based on performance. Required Materials
