Hiring Department: College of Liberal Arts Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 19 FLSA Status: To Be Determined at Offer Earliest Start Date: Ongoing Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Job Details: Peer advisors act as the administrative front line for the advising suite for undeclared Liberal Arts students. They perform everyday administrative tasks on the student's behalf, such as dropping classes, changing majors, and creating appointments with advisors. They do not advise students on which classes to take, but they do connect students with the appropriate academic advisors. Peer advisors provide accurate information to the students, faculty, and staff who rely on the Student Division for information on UT and College of Liberal Arts policies and procedures. This information may be given over the phone, through email, or in person. The ideal candidate will also have a background in customer service, a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality, and must be able to demonstrate the ability to take initiative. Perform other office tasks as needed. Hiring for 2025 summer (beginning in June 2025) to continue in Fall and Spring Terms. Please do not apply if you are unable to work this summer. Responsibilities: Maintain and organize the front office space to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment for students, staff, and visitors. Demonstrate a strong understanding of University of Texas policies and procedures, particularly as they relate to student services, and apply this knowledge in daily interactions. Help maintain and update student policies related to Q-drops, pass/fail options, and withdrawals, ensuring information is accurate and accessible to staff and students. Respond to inquiries received through the online chat platform, providing accurate information and directing complex or specialized questions to the appropriate departments. Provide support for both new and returning students, assisting with general questions, guidance through university processes, and connecting them to campus resources as needed. Required Qualifications

Current student at UT Austin and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) for the current regular semester, in good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation or academic dismissal). Open to work study and non-work study Applicants will be expected to work during business hours Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Undergraduate student at UT graduating after May 2026 Customer service experience Salary Range $12/hourly
