Immediately Interviewing and Hiring a Quality Inspector
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing first piece, in-process, and final inspections, as well as conducting layered process audits (LPAs) throughout the operations process to ensure quality standards are met. Responsibilities
Read and follow written instructions and prints. Verify the accuracy of gauges and measuring tools. Use micrometers, calipers, height stands, thread gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure part conformity to print specifications. Conduct first piece and final inspections and record data on inspection sheets. Perform random in-process inspections and 100% inspections as needed. Lift 30-50 pounds and utilize a crane to lift products weighing over 50 pounds. Support the company's quality management program. Maintain the calibration schedule and ensure tools are up to date with calibration. Print and update inspection sheets as needed based on dimensions from prints and revision levels. Execute LPAs as directed by the Quality Supervisor. Conduct internal audits in accordance with ISO9001 standards as directed by the Quality Supervisor. Maintain a clean and organized quality staging area and office. Attend Daily Management Meetings (DMM) in place of the Quality Supervisor when needed. Uphold the highest ethical standards for self and others. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills/Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of QA/QI experience in a manufacturing environment. Machine shop experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand prints. Proficient use of measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height stands, and thread gauges. Proficiency in the MS Office Suite. Familiarity with an ERP system (Oracle preferred). Detail-oriented. Previous forklift experience preferred. Visual acuity for detailed work. Ability to lift products weighing up to 35 pounds and move materials using a pallet jack or forklift. Work in controlled and non-temperature controlled areas. Pay and Benefits
